The EPFL commissioned a feasibility study concerning the possibility of lodging the Opera de Lausanne on the site of the school during the Opera's closure for renovation. We proposed a demountable structure with a flexible 1000-2000 seat auditorium for opera, theatre, concerts, conferences and academic ceremonies. The stage volume opens to the rear to generate a covered outdoor rock venue for 3000 people. The project budget was €7M for a construction time of 6 months.
