Polish-born, French-based choreographer Ola Maciejewska invited Andrew Todd to work as a general advisor for her 2018 creation ‘Dance Concert.’

 

Four female dancers move through an installation of 8 theremin antennae on stage, triggering invisible energy fields with their movement and contact -whether individual or collective, creating a circuit of several bodies. A mixture of analog and digital signals are produced, further generating compositional and dynamic structures according to parameters generated by electronic composer Kerwin Rolland; the dancers created their own score, rather than following a structure supplied in advance.
