THE FOCAL SEAT is not so much a chair as a process of encounter. Having produced several finished items and tested them in various environments, we are learning lessons and developing new models -whether for production or bespoke- which respond to context, production methods, resource and use.
There are two main strands of development currently under way. The first is to carve the seats in solid stone, whether in a reclining, lounge-chair ergonomy (for example, for gardens or spas) or a more upright posture (perahps better suited for urban situations). Production partners are engaged for this process in France and elsewhere.
The second process centres on group seating, for example a booth-type space for four people, ideal for restaurants and for meetings in open space offices.
