STUDIO ANDREW TODD

Hommage to Joseph Rykwert

Andrew Todd wrote two obituaries of his teacher, the architectural historian Joseph Rykwert

Joseph Rykwert was an omnipresent influence in architecture over the last 60 years, eliding work with students and guidance to emerged -and sometimes world-famous- professionals. Sometimes they were the same people -the case with Andrew Todd, who sweated through Ph.D seminars at Penn, absorbing dozens of books per week, and then continued contact with Rykwert, who attended a show at the practice's CQS Space in the Old Vic Theatre.

Todd contributed two slightly differing obituaries of Rykwert, one for the RIBA Journal and another -in French- for AMC.
